Educators can access various resources for health and wellbeing. Be You provides professional learning modules on mental health literacy and early intervention (Beyond Blue, 2022). Emerging Minds provides toolkits for working with children experiencing adversity (Emerging Minds, 2021). Raising Children Network evidence-based parenting information (Raising Children Network, 2025). KidsMatter (now an archived service but still accessible) contains wellbeing and resilience resources.
Under the heading of children's literature, some books help with emotional literacy. The Huge Bag of Worries, by Virginia Ironside, helps children articulate their feelings of anxiety (Sanner, 2021). The Invisible String, by Patrice Karst, deals with loss and separation. When Sophie Gets Angry – Really, Really Angry, by Molly Bang, shows children how to deal with powerful feelings (Sanner, 2021). A Terrible Thing Happened, by Margaret Holmes, provides support for children who have witnessed traumatic events (Sanner, 2021).
Educational media play a major role here too. Play School: Mindfully Me acts to teach mindfulness to young children. Sesame Street in Communities – Traumatic Experiences offers coping strategies. ABC Kids Listen-Imagine this includes episodes on emotions and resilience (ABC Kids Listen, n.d.). Comic Kids Yoga Provides online video for movement and mindfulness (Cosmic Kids Yoga, n.d.).
